The players assoication and owners are going to put a requirement for entering the draft. Looks like its going to be 3 years after high school.

Don't have a link heard it on the radio.

Are the old guys getting jealous of folks like Lebron and Melo?

I'm not sure I like this rule. There are a lot of success stories -- LeBron, Melo, KG, Kobe and others, but there are those who thought they were going to set the world on fire and hired an agent, ending their college eligibility.
I think I could agree on a minimum age to hire an agent, prior to the draft, but let those kids who are good enough enter the draft.
Also, what does this mean for foreign players? They may have been playing semi-professionally from age 14 or 15 on and age isn't as important for them.

for a long time I have been one that pushed the college issue, but as I have thought it out, I have changed my thinking. A man old enough to die for this country should be able to make his own decision regarding his career choice, or college. If he/she wants to pursue pro sports, let his/her ability and determination be the deciding factor.

I have a potential solution to the problems that high schoolers hiring agents would bring. Make them forfeit a year of college eligibility if they hire an agent and don't make it in the NBA. This way, the kid would have the opportunity to make it if he's good enough, but would be able to go back to school if not.

I dont think that is fair. What if a kid decides to enlist into Marine Corps boot camp and make a career out of the military, and cant make it through basic training, should he/she be required to forfeit a scolarship?

really, I guess it should be set by the NCAA. maybe in a form of "we are granting you a scolarship to attend our college in exchange for you playing for our school, if you accept by ""this date"", you are welcome. if not, the scolarship is null and void.
