Wow, Ive never seen such a successful franchise go through coaches like this. They ever stop to think that they don't win championships because they keep switching coaches? it takes time to learn a system and get comfortable with a guy.

i think the decision is right, if they plan to stick with their roster yet again. flip is too nice. i dont think he ever really won over the detroit players, and it just wasnt a good fit. those cagey long time vets need someone intense, someone who can rile them up. flip's a smart coach, but hes not those other things.

that being said, i think its time to blow this team up. three years in a row now, this team just keeps on coming up short, losing to teams it shouldnt lose to (ok, celtics arguable this year), continuing to believe they have enough talent to just turn it on when they need to. theyve got no cap room with the current setup and only made it as far as they did this year cuz they got lucky with stuckey, who was salvaged from the darko disaster. its time to mail in the championship hopes and start something new before things get worse.

I like Flip, but he was an offensive minded coach on a defensive minded team. I understand a team must do both, but it just never seemed like a good fit to me.

not to mention hes a choking coach on a team that wanted to win a championship. another contradiction. he belongs back in minnesota.
