Game 5, closeout game...always tough.

My question is if the Celtics get down early like they did in game 4 do they try to comeback or do they take it easy and rest their starters for the quick turn around in game 6?

Tough call, tempted to go Lakers....

It all comes down to Kobe. He is a real pouter, and he could lose his team early today.

This is a really hard game to figure. Really, both teams have only played one half of good basketball a game. Each team plays on great 1/2 and it has been the team with the crumbiest crumby half that loses.

lol, did I just say that?

I went Lakers. I figured when the series came to LA it would go Lakers, Celtics, Lakers, so I am sticking with it.

For the Lakers to win though, MVP Kobe has to show up and maybe catch the Celtics feeling like they have already won it and steal the game from them.

So standard thinking is usually that in the Playoffs when the home team needs it bad they usually get it. Penalty calling tends to slightly favoe the home team. But with all the bad press will the officials now tighten up on the home team. Is this what happened last game helping the Celts steal a game from the Lakers?

Hmmm...may have been part of it. The Celtics were just the better team and I think a lot of it had to do with how well Pierce did guarding Kobe. Ray Allen didn't have to worry about guarding Kobe so he didn't get worn out and he was able to open up his offensive game.

I figure this game won't be a blow out and even if LA wins they don't cover. As I've been doing I'm taking the points.

Ah, very nice. It was no accident that Ray Allen stepped up. Although it was Posey that turned that game on it's ear late, very timely, hard to duplicate?

Legit question but something to consider is the Boston Bench, which has been the real story of this Finals. Also Game 6 is Wednesday which gives plenty of time for rest.
