Carmelo's agent assured forward will not be traded

The agent for Carmelo Anthony says the Denver Nuggets have told him they will not trade the two-time All-Star forward this summer.

"He's not going to be moved," Calvin Andrews said in a telephone interview Sunday. "It's not happening. We've been given assurances from the owner on down."

If the rumor is true that Denver turned down a deal that would have sent Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince to the Nuggets for MELO....

that is the dumbest trade rejection in history. Billups and Prince would be phenomenal value for Melo. Plus they NEED a PG and defense.

billups and prince are great players, but they are not melo. melo is a one of a kind player who i believe will be an mvp candidate consistenly, and soon. you dont trade that player unless you have absolutely no other options. dont forget that this guy just turned 24 recently, so he only has a year or two on some of the guys getting drafted tonight. the nuggets arent going to win anything special with billups, AI, and tayshaun. its a weird mix. they need to flush the AI experiment and seriously build the team around melo's unique talents.

I totally disagree. MELO is vastly overrated and Tayshaun Prince is himself a better player than Carmelo Anthony.

What (in your mind) makes Melo so good? He plays no defense... at all. He is as likely to turn the ball over as he is to get an assist (3.4 AST to 3.3 TO per game which is terrible). His only redeeming qualities are that he shoots a high FG% and is OK at rebounding.

Tayshaun Prince is a monster on defense and is much better on offense than people think. Billups is also a great defender and consistent offensive weapon.
