denver are a bunch of idiots. why trade one of the best defenders and rebounders in the league for peanuts? what good is the cap room, when they wont be able to sign someone as good with the money?

Nice move by the Clippers - this gives them a roster that is highly respectable now and also allows them to have massive cap room for the Lebron-O-Thon free agency period.

Because they were well over the cap. This move doesn't give them room, it gets them back in compliance.

Why not? They will be in the running for the 2010 free agency period in which players like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are going to be unrestricted. They are poised to have a ton of cap room for that period and could make a run at either of those two players, or several other high-value FA targets.
