Report: OKC franchise will adopt 'Thunder' nickname - NBA - SI.com

Wow. My alma mater, Wheaton College, is the Thunder. We chagned from the Crusaders a decade ago for PC reasons, and all the students here absolutely HATE the name because it's so stupid, there's no way to have a logo more than just a sound, and did I mention it's just stupid?

And now a pro team has it. Wow.

Should've gone with the old USFL team they had...the Oklahoma Outlaws, with Doug Williams at QB.

I'm guessing after the Bullets became the Wizards "outlaws" was a little too non-PC for the new NBA.
