| A Voice of Reason | Name Your Sleeper ... Everyone will spend the next three months debating the merits of the first-rounders, but who are some of the guys who are completely under the radar right now but could emerge after the combine or be productive second-day selections? I'll throw out a guy I'm sure most of you have never heard of to get it rolling. Ryne Robinson, WR, Miami (OH) 5-10, 175 lbs. With only one year of Big Ben throwing him the ball, Robinson became Miami's all-time leading receiver with 258 career receptions for 3,697 yards and 22 touchdowns. He is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons, and only one player in Division-IA will enter this year's draft with more career catches and yards (Houston's Vincent Marshall). While his receiving numbers are impressive, his punt return skills are what will get him to the NFL. Though almost no one in the MAC would punt to him over his final two seasons, he amassed 1,677 punt return yards (13.9 ypr) and seven touchdown, coming close to NCAA records in both. And before you even throw out the mid-major disclaimer on the numbers, look at what he did at Michigan and versus Iowa State in 2005. He ranked among the top five nationally in receiving yards per game this year, which earned him a combine invite. His speed is good but not special - i'm guessing about a 4.45 in the 40. His football quickness, however, is downright rare, and I expect him to show very well in the cone drills. The knock will be his size, which is why he was a RedHawk and not a Buckeye, but he never missed a game with injury during his college career. He'll never be a No. 1 or probably even No. 2 WR, but he could be an Az-Hakim or Wes Welker-type who could make a special teams impact and be a reliable receiver with big yards after the catch potential. |

| 'Burghapologist | Linebacker H.B. Blades from Pitt. Good pedigree, probably draftable in the 3rd round time frame, and could possibly follow the Sam Mills/Dat Nguyen/Zach Thomas mold of ballhawking undersized MLB's. Not fantastic measurables but every time you watched him play he was just all over the place. |

| who me? Admin | Get ready to laugh. Jordan Palmer. Palmer is in jeapordy of not even being drafted, but name should get him picked up at least in the 7th round, value could rise to the 6th, maybe low 5th round. His biggest problem is there wasn't a pass he didn't like in college, and he felt he could make every play. He made alot of great plays, but made almost as many bad plays. I think he gets to the NFL, has some time to settle down and does well when he gets his opportunity to start. |

He's No sleeper. Anyone who followed the Big East knows that he'll be all around the field making plays, even in the pro's. | |||

| 'Burghapologist | Here's a deep sleeper that just recently came to my attention. Brandon Myles, WR, West Virginia For some ridiculous reason, this cat didn't even get invited to the Combine. I realize WVU's offense is about as close to the wishbone as you can get nowadays, but look back at the game logs for Pat White, specifically at the games when he was required to throw it a bit more. Then look at who his main target primarily was, Myles's game stats, and his measurables. He's a tall quick dude with glue hands that can beat almost anyone on jump balls in the red zone. Add to that his obvious skills as a downfield run blocker, which has been gaining recognition in the NFL more and more over the past few years. Sure hope the Steelers can snag this kid in the later rounds. He reminds me a bit of a taller Hines Ward. |

| Outlaw | Jason Hill was going to be a sleeper, but he ran a 4.32 in the 40, so He's probably on everyone's radar now. He'll be a steal if he last past the middle of round 2. Eric Frampton at SS could be a instant starter for a team in need. He led WSU in tackles and INT's. |

| Outlaw | I am gonna go with Tanard Jackson, he is a big physical CB/FS who has all of the physical tools - and can come up in run support. I think a team with little depth at cb or a team that needs a fs will be pleasantly suprised. My opinion - He could come right in and start as a rookie because he makes plays. The safety out of TCU is very good to, i just cannot remember his name at this point - i dont even think he got a combine invite. |
