Arrow 2007 Sports Outlaw NFL Mock Draft

It is that time of year. I have started my yearly mock draft which will be updated daily, sometimes more, up until draft day. This will be my 3rd year to do a mock here and I really enjoy it.

Just like last year, I am always open to listen to ideas from everyone once I get the first version completed, so feel free to provide your opinions.

*Mock Draft is now complete.*

wow, i havent even seen darrell revis as a first round pick, let alone top 6. that would be a shocker, at least from what i know right now. quinn falling to 8, much as i think hes overrated, seems like a stretch for now. i dont see any way cleveland wouldnt take him if he made it to them.

interesting take on the whole. i still think the whole "childress hates drafting WRs" thing is just something a few people made up, and i dont know where its ever been grounded. ive seen jamal anderson in another mock or two.

Can't argue with the Fins' pick. Would have loved to see them take Jarrett, but Okoye is a beast and I'd love to have him tied up with the Fins for a long time.

EDIT: Okoye is also really smart. He tested into high school at 12 when he emigrated from Nigeria.

Yes, that is how he got into Louisville at age 16.

Quinn is my second choice for Cleveland right now, but I don't think Crennell has enough time to take a player that they don't think will make an immediate impact. Actually, Quinn is my third choice there right now, as they would probably jump all over Joe Thomas if Detroit screws up.

I thought about putting Jarrett there, and may still, depending on how the combine goes.

Revis just hasn't had time for guys like Kiper to get any information on him because the guys that feed Kiper all his information is still looking at film on the guy since he declared

The bit draft sites I generally read from instantly vaulted him as the #1 cornerback as soon as he declared, should be getting much more attention over the next few weeks. 6 foot, runs a 4.5, and has insane coverage skills. Has been starting for Pitt since he arrived as a true freshman.

I hope your right, I was lucky enough to have Calvin Johnson on my favorite college team, would be more than happy to have him on my favorite NFL team!

I'm listening to the Joe Bailey show (Bailey is the President of Dolphins Enterprises) and he mentioned that Mueller is thinking receiver in the 1st round. Ginn is being thrown around a lot, although I don't think that's a lock.

Revis is one of those guys who's stock will soar at the combine, Mike's spot on on that one. He COULD overtake Hall as the top cover corner, his size and measurables will be up there with him, but like Mike said, the big knock on the guy is that he's just not a known quantity yet, and that's why a lot of boards are hesitant to move him up, just not enough of a body of work to know where he's going to project just yet

Actually I think Aaron Ross of Texas maybe the top corner in the draft. I dont think Hughes has the recovery speed needed in the NFL.

recovery speed is Hughes biggest concern. made alot of big plays, but got burned just as often on double moves.

For the record:
Bengals - agree with almost any def position. However if they go DL, it will be end, not DT. Also, with the Joseph issue, I think CB is a much greater need, along with LB.

For the Eagles, LB or DL I would think comes before SS. Considine is in my opinion set at SS, plus they have depth already. Need at DL or LB is much greater.

Fair enough - Given who is available at that point acccording to the mock, who would be worth the 1st round pick at each position?

Any of the CBs you have listed after Bengals pick would be a target. With Joseph a legal question, and other Cbs failing...CB will be a must for Cincy. One watchout as well. There is alot of rumors floating that rb will be key for cincy. They are concerned on wear and tear on Rudi, and the fact Perry has Kijana Carter luck in injuries. If Peterson, or Irons or some other top rb falls to them....don't be too surprised if they take him in the first round. I would think they would wait...but then again...they took Perry there.

As for Eagles....Siler or Timmons at LB are needed. They need depth at ILB, and youth at OLB.

Do you think the Joseph situation will be that big of a deal once the season gets here? Haven't looked to see if he has prior trouble or not. I guess Chris Houston would be a possibility for Cincy, or even Hughes (though I think his value will drop). Just seems to me that one of the best ways to strengthen a secondary is to have guys up front getting constant pressure. I see your point though, and it is a possibility.

As for the Eagles, not quite ready to take the abuse of moving one of these linebackers up yet. Haven't looked at a ton of mock drafts yet, but I am not seeing Siler in the first round. I have him there, but barely. The Penn State linebacker is up there in some drafts, but his value even appears to be dropping. Possibility though.
