| Deputy Premium Member Forum Leader | I doubt they will do it, but Thomas is a must for detroit. I think they can live with Kitna and McCown and Orvlovsky one more year....let someone else take a chance on Quinn. My second option here would be rb....where Jones' injury is a question. |

| who me? Admin | Just gonna copy what I currently have in my mock draft. Detroit is a very bad team. The best place to improve any team is in the trenches. Joe Thomas brings the skills at the offensive tackle position that every team would love to have, and more importantly, skills that the Detroit Lions desperately need. |

| Who Me? Admin | No Gaines Adams as a pick?? To me this is a toss up between Thomas and Adams. Both are dire needs and great places to start to rebuild at. Both are players that can come in and be productive right away. For me, it comes down to simply who I feel can be a bigger impact player, and I think that person is Joe Thomas. He the anchor LT that you can build an OL around. |

| Outlaw | Detroit will go back to it old ways and draft another playmaker receiver in Calvin Johnson. Just kidding the will draft Thomas with this pick and help sure up the o-line, so kinta will not have to run for his life on every snap next year. |

| SO Resident Choke Artist | I disagree wholeheartedly. While I agree that the most dire need for Detroit lies in the offensive line (one of many need areas), Detroit needs a guy they can look for to the future to lead this team. Do you really think they view an aging Kitna as that future? How about McCown? Quite simply, you are not going to find a QB with Quinn's pedigree for the NFL in the later rounds. I think Detroit takes Quinn with the number two, and lets Kitna groom him (he has had success grooming a top QB pick in the past, and that turned out alright). There are solid OL'men to be found in the 2nd-4th rounds of this draft that are very solid lineman, I think they address that need there. I think the situation in Detroit is a little more complicated, considering there are SEVERAL areas of the team that need addressing, and that will be answered with depth. Millen takes the name at the top of the board and moves on.......... |

| 'Burghapologist | Again my theory of trading down applies... Detroit has too many holes and would benefit by putting interest in Quinn out there in the media and targeting a trade down partner that wants a QB, in order to grab an extra 2nd rounder. |

| Richest Vman Alive Forum Leader | interesting that no one is considering RB at all. isnt it assumed at this point that kevin jones is done for next year and that this may be a career affecting injury? what does that leave at RB? |

| Deputy Premium Member Forum Leader | It was why I put Peterson in as one suggestion. However, they do have Calhoun who was hurt most of this year, and I still feel he will be the back of the future for Detroit...so I think OL was more important. You may be right though....as Peterson will be hard to pass up. |

| TO THE DEATH | They can address a temp RB in Free Agency, but they need a true franchise QB and to rebuild the o-line. One player will not fix the line, so they will have to address that in free agency as well. Franchise QB's are hard to come by, be it in the draft or free agency, that's why Quinn is my pick. |
