I say they go Hall here, as the deperately need help at CB. Their other glaring need is OL, especially with them mnost likely losing Davis to FA, but I dont see them using the #5 pick on Levi Brown, so I take Hall.

Gaines Adams

Adams is currently considered the best defensive player in the draft, and barring any setbacks during the combine, could go anywhere in the top 5 spots in the draft. Should be an instant defensive playmaker, which the Cardinals desperately need.

i think leon hall has fallen enough to where a) theres no chances hes a top 5 pick anymore, probably not even top 10, and b) i doubt hes even the top corner off the board at this point. we'll see, we're a long ways away, but for me personally, it's surprising to even see him on the ballot.

the biggest needs on this team appear to be offensive line and cornerback, but the only player worthy of a top 5 pick is already gone (joe thomas). i think DL is a logical place to go, assuming the impossibility of a trade down here. i would probably cast my real sleeper vote to the DT kid from louisville who i love and could see fitting there, but instead i'll go DE and go with anderson who i feel is a good fit there as well.

Couple of things:
first on list, I usually go to a few sites, see team needs, and then list key players left in those positions. While I agree with you hall is not top 5, he is listed as the top CB in most sites right now. Cb is a need for Arizona.

Also, I agree with Mike and Da Bomb here. CB is the key need, but don't see any Cb rated high enough to go at 5. This could very well change...but I just don't see it. I also see DE as need, which is why Adams and Anderson are both on the list.

I am leaning Anderson here, due to fit in system, and need for Arizona to get another edge player that can reach the Qb.

My pick is going to Gaines Adams. Still the best defensive player available.

Gaines Adams is the direction I "think" the team would go, given the availablilties here.

Personally, I think Jamaal Anderson is the better defensive end coming out of this draft, I just don't think teams will have enough confidence in him to take him this high in the draft.

Will take ...

L. Landry from LSU. The safeties, just like the CB, are needing overhaul. I think Landry the better pick up at the 5 spot than Hall.

Hall may not be the fastest or flashiest CB in this draft, but as far as NFL ready right now, he's the MOST COMPLETE CB......now there is argument to be made that Landry is there with him, but he still has a good shot at going top 10, and he MAY not be the first CB off the board, but he WILL get considered in this spot at least. I don't think he's the pick at all, but he's definitely a name that deserves being on the ballot.

it also depends on the defensive system. if i was playign a cover 2 zone sort of defense, i think id be pretty happy adding hall. but if i was figuring to leave my corners on 1 on 1 a lot, as i think the cards do (though new coaches so who knows), then i think hall is a poor selection here.

I figure on Hall being the 3rd, possibly 4th or 5th cornerback selected in the draft. If the Cardinals were to select a cornerback this high, I think it would be Darrelle Revis.

Does Arizona have any other picks besides its normal ones? Their O Line needs are huge and O lineman are really hard to come by on the free agent market. Are there any good O linemen in free agency?

I don't know about 4th or 5th CB, but I do think that Hall's stock will slip a little bit at the combine.........I just don't think he "shows" the scouts a trait that makes him worthy of a top 5 pick LOL.....could feasibly slip into the 12-17 range, could see him slipping to 3rd CB off, but I'll have to see the combine and judge after that, a lot of Hall's stock comes from his play in college, and the last part of 06 kinda hurt him a bit as far as where he grades out.........

Well, as is stands right now, I am seeing him being projected as the #3 cornerback, with Ross quickly closing ground. The speed and recovery that Ross will show at the combine will probably vault him past Hall.

I went with Anderson only because Adams had a better season last year and probably should've declared, plus I watched 7 Razorback games live so I know how Anderson can actually take over games for short stretches. Can't go wrong with either one if DE is where they're going, plus there will be many good DB's around when they pick again in the 2nd.

On an unrelated note, I think Reggie Nelson is just barely better than Landry at that position. (Safety)
