| who me? Admin | The pick in my Mock here is Jamaal Anderson, and when all is said and done, I think it will be he or Gaines Adams going to Minnesota. With both of those players gone, I default to "other" and go with Darrelle Revis. My second choice here would be Dwayne Jarrett, but I don't think the Vikings go receiver with this pick. |

| Deputy Premium Member Forum Leader | I agree, if Washington trades, this is DE for Minnesota. Either Gaines or Anderson, whichever falls. I don't think CB is a high concern. I also know DT isn't as big a push. I am leaning to Carriker who is the next on my list at DE, but this is high for him. I don't see Qb going here, as all I hear is they are still high on Jackson. So, do they reach at OT a real need, or do they reach at DE. Due to how this has fallen. I will go other and say Adam Carriker. |

| Who Me? Admin | Well for me it's Levi Brown or Ginn. Since their passing game was abysmal last year, I'll choose Ginn Here just so I can hear a certain Vik homer scream they won't take a WR in Rd 1 ![]() |

| Wonder Woman Premium Member | I say they go Ginn here. There are rumors about the Vikings wanted to "do what it takes" to get Carr for their QB. If this trade happens, they will need to get better receivers. I think with a proper o-line, Carr will blow all of his haters out of the water. |

| SO Resident Choke Artist | other, Dwayne Jarrett........it's either him or Ginn, and I think that this pick really comes down to team preference, I don't think you really can go wrong with either of em, I just like Jarrett for some reason or other.......now, after the combine when Ginn's 40 time goes on the board........????????????????? |

| Richest Vman Alive Forum Leader | i finally cast a vote and went with other, dwayne jarrett. i know ginn is fast, but we already have a really fast guy named troy williamson. jarrett is the sort of receiver who fits the team better, and hes also 10 times the player imo. i dont care what the combine says or if he only runs a 4.55 or something. i saw him play at least 10 times in college. he steps up in the biggest games, and he flat out makes plays. ginn is just a poor fit. i dont see him as an option. i think the team will have to look long and hard at quinn if he does fall, but i dont think he'll be there, and think we'd pass anyway. i could definitely see taking one of the DEs that just went off the board, and i think branch is a possibility with the age of fat pat being a factor. i like the way the louisville DT fits our system best. i personally hope that the team trades down 5-10 spots. we can still get the louisville DT or else one of the WRs (jarrett, meachem, rice, bowe all to my liking) and gain something later on. the greatest draft needs imo are: 1) playmaking receiver 2) pass rushing DE 3) OL help on the right side 4) corner 5) quarterback this is a rebuilding team right now. it only makes sense to give a 2nd round pick (tarvaris) a chance to show what hes got and build some pieces for a year or two down the road. the teams not going to win anything big this year. |

| Deputy Premium Member Forum Leader | Wow, this one is close. 4 for Ginn, 3 for Brown, and 3 for Quinn, and 3 for Jarrett. I will leave this one up longer, to see if we get more of clear choice Last edited by Phicinfan; 02-22-2007 at 02:37 PM. |

| Outlaw | I went with Ginn. He will be the Steve Smith..not saying at the same level, but close...of the Vikings passing game. Williamson will have to step up his play. Also, there is enough depth in the draft that the Vikings can wait on an OL player in the second or third rounds...IMO |

| Bloggin' Outlaw Premium Member Forum Leader | I put in a vote for OT Brown. Hard to figure the Vikes at this time. It's kink of like the chicken and the egg. Are the WRs good and the QBs lacking or vice versa. It seems like they have made some noise about getting a QB so far. This would lead me to think that they think there is still potential at WR that is not being tapped. This leaves QB they could either draft one or trade for one. So far we have heard some trade rumors. So went with a lineman, an area of need. Improving blocking will improve both QB and WR production. |

Whereas Revis and Dwayne will likely be really good pros, I think you are overrating them quite a bit on almost every draft thread, Mike. Based on a combination of watching several Pitt and USC games over the past 2 years, and hundreds of internet and magazine articles.. Jarrett will go just outside the top-10 (Atlanta, maybe?) and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Revis around in the mid-late 1st round when the Cowpokes pick and I think he'd be a wonderful fit for them. Jarrett's most common professional comp that I've seen has been Keyshawn, which is very good, but just shy of great. Ginn, I think, will be great. Just an opinion.

Still, I think your hatred of Ginn is a bit overstated. I personally see another Mike Williams in Jarrett.
