Darrelle Revis, Cornerback, Pitt.
Quote:
Darrelle Revis solidified his status as an NFL first-round draft pick today, wowing coaches and scouts by running the 40-yard dash in less than 4.4 seconds.

The former Pitt cornerback, a two-time All-Big East selection who declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season, drew 40-plus NFL personnel to the UPMC Sports Performance Complex indoor facility on the South Side.

According to scouts, Revis was timed between 4.36 seconds and 4.41 seconds in the 40-yard dash. The Aliquippa native also was impressive in defensive back drills.

"I did what I had to do," Revis said. "Now, it's up to God to see where I stand in the draft."

Cb is real need. OT is the other dire need. As much as I could agree with Revis...I think if Brown is there...they take him.

I went with Carriker, simply fits their system to a tee. Talk is they may move Kiesel to OLB, which will create a large need at DE.

with the obvious need at OT and with everyone complaining about levi brown "slipping" so far, i thought this one seemed like an obvious no-brainer. i guess not.

At the risk of debating this ad nauseum, Revis is a good cover corner, but Leon Hall is by far the more complete DB due to his adeptness at blitzing and run support and is therefore Pittsburgh's pick in addition to being the #1 rated CB by well over 95% of scouting services and media outlets.
And by the way, I do have CB as the Steelers' primary need position after some pretty extensive research into this topic.

P.S.- Aaron Ross is also > Revis

I also like Carriker, but "their system" is up in the air right now. Will be a hybrid combination of 3-4 and 4-3 with some hints of the Tampa cover-2. The common denominator in any of those is having well rounded versatile CB's and Safeties who have coverage skills.

That is untrue. Revis Agen even said that Revis was the best cornerback in the draft. Why would he lie to the public about his client?

I could throw on the Steelers. CB is a desperate need for them. Hall is the only choice

Stevie Wonder attained an agent's license?!?!?!

On a side note.. many around the Outlaw consider Phicin to be a damn smart and insightful man. I know I sure do! Which is why he knew enough to include Hall as a selection and not Mikey Revis. <-- His new name until after the draft

I want to argue this, but can't because:

A. I don't know what kind of arm Beer has or how well he flows through his receiver progression.

-and-

B. It doesn't matter because he's probably right regardless of A.

For the record, I did select Hall because from all I have SEEN and read, he is the top rated CB still. I would say Revis now is clearly #2.

Also, when I do these...I try to have the top rated person, still available in all the key areas of need(i.e. Brown for OT, Hall for Cb, Carriker for DE, and so on...). But keep in mind..I am no expert, I am merely going by all I have seen on the web....and in some cases, my personal opinion. That is why I like the other catagory...so everyone has a chance to post who they feel is best available.

As far as the O-line goes they have a much much greater need at Center than OT after the retirement of Jeff Hartings, one of the best C's in the NFL for the past 5 years.
