nice pick with jarvis moss. i noticed him still on the board and was eyeing him for the vikings a few spots away if he kept on slipping. very nice value there.

DE is one of the biggest needs for us, especially with Hall leaving. Moss has tons of upside, great pass rusher, and at 6'6", can add bulk. If Beason was still on the board he would have gotten lots of consideration here. Perfect cover 2 LB that has experience at all 3 LB positions.

Wanting to open the holes for our run game and protection of Simms, with Ugoh gone, we will take D. Free to fill these duties for us.

i read this sentence like 8 times and wondered what the crap was going on... with ugoh gone, you wanted to take D... made sense to me, tampas defense could use some young blood. but wtf did "free to fill these duties for us" mean? all i could think of was that you speak the same languages as the "all your base are belong to us" guys. i finally looked at the pick and figured it out, but man was i confused.

LOL, with picking up a Def in first round which was more need than O-Line then, wanted to pick Doug up before he dropped to far down and was not available later. Personally think he lil higher in value than most have him.

Bit of a reach there, must be very high on him.

After looking at available O-Line prospects, it doesn't seem that this years draft is very deep in quality here, so if you really like him, and feel it is a strong need, then it's a good choice. Personally, as a Bucs fan (my second favorite team), I see other needs that would not be as much of a reach, and he could still picked up in round 3, maybe.

This was a VERY troublesome pick.........personally, I think Cleveland's 3-4 scheme would benefit greatly from a space eater in the middle, and Tyler certainly fills that bill......however, there's some SERIOUS character issues with the kid......if he can get his head on straight, he's got a chance for some value at this spot, also kinda troubling is the fact that he basically flunked the Wonderlic with a 13.....this is a pick based purely on need, I felt this was a glaring need for the Cleveland D, and so the pick goes on the board (and we pray.........)

2.06 Arizona - Brian Leonard - FB - Rutgers

well this one is sure to get a reaction. yes i just drafted a fullback at #38 overall. its no secret that arizona is short on blocking. but the OL pool is very thin and the only guy i couldve even tried to convince myself into taking (sears) went right before me, and that was half a round too soon anyways.

leonard is just the sort of guy who can redefine an entire offense. he's a character guy and a guy who just does all the little things and does them amazingly well. he's as close as i can get to drafting OL without actually doing it. they get leonard and watch edge's ypc jump by like half a yard this season. not to mention that he can carry the ball well, so he can be a change of pace and strong short yardage guy to keep edge fresh. hes also a fantastic receiver out of the backfield, so theres all sorts of ways to use him.

fullback is one of those underappreciated spots on an nfl roster these days. and if you dont think its important, dont try telling it to lt2 (lorenzo neal), priest holmes (tony richardson), shaun alexander (mack strong), etc etc. brian leonard is good enough to immediately be a top 5 FB and quickly become the very best, and i truly believe he could be as valuable as just about any player from this draft when all is said and done. i was tempted to wait and see if arizona could snag him in the 3rd round, but i couldnt take that chance.

arizona has been a loser for a long, long time. with a new coaching staff in town and lots of young talent on offense, leonard could be the glue that really pulls this team together and puts them over the top. and thats why hes the pick here.

With the very ageing D-Line as a whole R. McDonald will fit that line exceptionally. He is a very versatile player and can fill any need that we ask of him as he has played Nosetackle and DE for Florida.

Bomb, I love the Leonard pick (that is if Arizona uses a FB, I have no idea). I have even seen him being projected by some in the first.

As far as the Bears pick, their O-Line is OLD!! They are still solid, but they are getting up there. Sears is versatile as he can play at gaurd or tackle. I think he iwill be a great fit in the system and give them much needed youth and deoth up front.

I'm P.O.'d beyond all belief at the Leonard pick. Not because it was a reach, it's because I had him locked and loaded for the Steelers at 2.14 !!!

The misconception with him as that he's a fullback. Blocking is not a weakness but is certainly not his strong suit but CAN be coached up. He was Rutgers' halfback for his first 3 years before being asked to move to FB to make room for Ray Rice. I wanted him for the Steelers to replace Verron Haynes who has a similar skillset. He is a punishing runner between the tackles and has super soft hands out of the backfield and runs solid short-intermediate routes. Basically an ideal 3rd down/goal line back who has the potential down the line to be an every-down workhorse.
I had him as the clear #3 RB behind A.P. and Lynch.
Great pick, bastard. LOL

lol, thanks i think? really though, im not sure how you say that blocking is not his strong suit. you apparently didnt watch many rutgers games this year. he is an absolutely fantastic fundamental blocker. i dont remember any other time ive tuned in just to watch a guy so good at blocking and opening up holes. to me thats his strong suit and everything else is just a great addition.

anyway wouldve been a good fit to the steelers. too bad whiz and grimm stole your intel and took him first.

There's a point I hadn't thought of before. We may be fighting with the Cardinals all draft long for "Steeler-type" players now that the Wiz is there. Assuming the front office gets smart and involves him in the selection process.

As for his blocking. I didn't cite it as a weakness, but he's still learning his craft since he was only asked to do alot of it for one season in school. And it can and will be coached up at the next level since this guy is extremely versatile and willing to accept coaching to make him better.
