It just seems to me that the Pats and Bears could work up something interesting. The Bears have some players to move that the Pats could use and the Pats have two first rounders among their picks.

wow adding suggs to that patriots defense would be ridiculous. i dont think that moves the bears up enough though.

seems to me that buffalo, st louis, and pittsburgh would be awesome fits. that would move chicago up to that 11-15 pick range from their spot at 31 (or from their spot high in the 2nd), and all of those teams really could use a stud OLB like briggs. one of those teams may come calling once willis disappears.

still think washington could end up getting briggs. not sure why that offer didnt work before. maybe they would accept the bears high #2, or maybe add in some 08 pick to make it work. the offer was already too good for the bears to pass up, maybe theyre just playing possum with synder's head.

From what I read the Redskins Bears deal for Briggs was prettty much settled pick wise. The Bears supposedly wanted a LB in return as part of the deal or shall we say dealbreaker.

While the Pats first rounders doesn't move the Bears up much in itself combining their first rounder with one of the Pats first rounders could enable them to trade way up in the draft. Getting Briggs would be a big boost in an area that the Pats could use one. We all consider the Pats amoung the most skilled cap manipulators that always gets incredible vaule for every move. But the Pats have also had a tendency to make a big bucks trade for a key defensive player every year, could Briggs be that guy?

That is true, you really are paying attention, how am I supposed to work up some trade hype with this level of analysis going on?

The Falcons may be interested in moving Up for WR CJ. This could just be smoke to keep the price high for division rival Bucs. The Bucs have expressed a serious interest in moving up for CJ.

Atlanta should be all over that. CJ is an Atlanta guy, and he's used to playing with a QB who can't get the ball to him. Can't find a much better fit than that.

I agree, Atlanta could use CJ. Atlanta picked Jenkins and White and decided to give these guys plenty of time to develop into the wr tandem of the future. But right now these guys don't scare anybody. The Falcons could really use a CJ and on the other side of the coin they don't need CJ on division rival Bucs as well.

The Redskins have offered CB Shauwn Springs to the Lions in an effort to get CJ.

From NFL Network:

Cleveland Browns are leaning toward Brady Quinn. If they decide to go with Peterson instead, expect either Miami or Minnesota to get Quinn, most likely in a trade up.

also, while most expect the Raiders to take Russel or Johnson, Quinn could end up in Oakland, possibly by taking a lower than expected #1 contract. It would make sense for Quinn if this happened, because the contract would still be more than what he would get with a lower pick, and the endorsements of being the #1 guy would more than make up for it.

So what I can gather is that everyone is trading up and everyone wants Calvin Johnson. Is that fairly accurate?

what about this

BROWNS FLOATING BRAYLON?
We'd heard a rumor to this effect a couple of weeks back from a reader, but could never corroborate it. Per Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the Browns have floated the names "Braylon" and "Edwards" to gauge possible trade interest.
As we'd initially heard the rumor, the thinking was Edwards and a third-round pick to the Vikings for the No. 7 overall pick in the draft.
Grossi also reports that the Browns would take receiver Calvin Johnson, if he's on the board when they pick at No. 3.
And that makes us wonder whether the Browns would package the No. 3 pick with whatever they could get for Edwards (or, possibly, Edwards himself) in order to move up in round one to get Johnson.
It might not be a bad deal for the Raiders, since they would come out of the transaction with Edwards and either JaMarcus Russell or Brady Quinn at No. 3.

RAIDERS ARE OFFERING MOSS FOR A TWO
A league source tells us that the Oakland Raiders are shopping receiver Randy Moss for a second-round pick in the 2007 draft.
The source believes that Moss can be had for less than that amount.
The problem is that any team that trades for Moss will have to pay him a base salary of $9.75 million in 2007, or otherwise work out a new deal.
Moss has been linked to the Packers for much of the offseason. We've consistently heard that Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre is certain that Moss will join the team. Last night, we heard that Green Bay recently has offered a fourth-round pick.
So if the Raiders want a two and the Packers have offered a four, this thing likely could get done for a third-rounder.

Espn and Sal Palantonio are all over a supposed agreement between Detroit and Tampa Bay. One offer is supposedly #4 and both of Tampa's 2nd rounders for the #2 pick if CJ is there. Other rumor is they would trade after Detroit has taken CJ and Tampa has taken Adams. I am betting this is a done deal if Raiders take Russell
