I am going safety here. Safety was one of their major weaknesses. Wr is as well, but Davis or others just don't have value here. A possible trade down could happen, but other than Moss, who won't be available in my opinion nor Timmons either....so this actually is pretty close to where i see Meriweather falling...and hits a key need.

I agree, Safety gets my vote as well. The Chargers don't have many weaknesses which makes it easier to draft for them and easier to pick for us.

Sorry, there is NO WAY the Chargers can afford to take Meriweather. Way too many character issues for a team who's arrest count is right up there with Cincinnati.

I went with other and my section for them is Anthony Gonzalez - WR - OSU. May be a bit early for him, but he's been rising fast on some boards and is a great character guy. Will be another weapon for Rivers to work with.

MT took the words right out of my mouth about the character issues and recent Chargers team history with arrests. No way in hell they take anyone in this entire draft with any off-field questions, let alone in the first round. I also stated earlier that I didn't feel Meriweather would go in the first round this saturday to anyone because of his questionable background.

I followed suit with "Other", and also went with a WR whose stock is rising down the home stretch. But instead of Gonzalez or Davis (both of whom I really like), I chose Steve Smith out of USC. In all honesty I think Smith, Gonzalez and Davis are a virtual pick-'em as far as talent and character, with Smith stepping up a half-notch due to higher upside potential.

cant believe the votes for merriweather. i have to agree with what miller said here regarding that. also, how is craig davis even listed? there are at least 3 or 4 WRs id take before even sniffing him.

Well, maybe you should talk to alot of scouts...cause he is listed in at least 8 different sites as higher than any other wrs left, including Hill, Gonzales and a few others.

that is why.

Neither are the above. Again, I am just telling you what I have found. Allison is dropping some...rumors of attitude or learning issues.

Honestly, in most mocks and sites I have been too, there are only on average three Wrs going in the first round...max is 4. I believe we are already at 5 or more in this mock...which is why a Moss and Timmons are still available in this mock.

only 3 on average? how can that be, that means 2 of ginn, jarrett, bowe, and meachem will be second round picks? i wouldnt complain, as the vikings could snag a great WR, but i have all four of those (plus calvin) as pretty close to first round locks. id be a lot more shocked to see 3 or 4 WRs in the first than i would be to see 6.

also moss and timmons, this looks like about where they ought to go, maybe a bit lower, but not incredible value. the first round just really peters out of top talent after about 20-25 picks imo.

Of all the mocks I have seen, lately the only first rounders have been in order Johnson, Ginn Jr and Bowe. In some Meachem or Jarrett as well....but more and more, Jarrett is dropping into the 2nd round.

I like Gonzalez or Steve Smith. Gonzalez also could be an option in the return game. I agree with Merriweather being an issue for anyone in the first round. No one wants to go into that first press conference having to answer character questions about their first pick. Especially not this year.

It would be a hell of a steal that down in 2nd round. Then again...he is Mike Williams 2....

Your not looking hard enough then

I just went to a random one from the Skins site master list and the first one I pulled had 5:
2007 NFL Draft :: 1st Round Mock

Pulled the next random one and it had 6:
Free Fantasy Football Information | Fantasy Football Xtreme » 2007 NFL Mock Draft

Pulled the next and found 5:
Fantasy Football Cheat Sheets - 2006 NFL Mock Draft

And the next one 6:
2007 NFL Mock Draft by Jeff Ludwig
(Both Gonzo and Smith came off the board before Davis went 53 to Cowboys)

Here's my favorite, it has 5
http://www.sofantasyfootball.com/mockdraft.html

Ahhh, here's one with 4:
2007 NFL Draft Scout, 2007 Draft Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange

And another with 5 (notice Gonzo in rd 1 ):
NFL Draft Countdown - 2007 NFL Mock Draft

So there is a sample size of 7, with the average being 5, high 6, low 4. Don't see whaere your coming with the average of 3 comment.

Okay, I use two of those, not SO
Sorry you want to make an issue of it. Tell you what...wanna make a bet?

I will be shocked if more than 4 go in first round. I have a few hand picked sites I really love...that I use alot. Drugstore listing is one of them. They have on average 3 going with max of 4. Only time will tell though.
