I still am a little amazed at how the 1st round of this draft went, most notably with Brady Quinn possibly falling out of the 1st round if I had not taken him for the Giants. It was making my head hurt to see that free fall.

In the real draft, I think he goes top 5, and will be extremely shocked if he doesn't go in the first 10 picks.

Dallas Cowboys
Since we started early, I think I may have gotten a steal at 1.22 with Robert Meachem, at least judging by where he is likely to go. I still like Jarrett better, but as far as "draft value", I liked this pick.

David Irons, in my opinion, is a cornerback that is slipping under the radar. There are some quality cornerbacks in this draft, and when you get 2-3 from a position that develop an "elite" status, it is easy for others to get very little air time. For a late 2nd round pick, I like the talent I would be getting here. For a team that is expected to be in the playoffs next season, Irons would at the very least be on the field in the nickel packages, and could contend for a starting job.

Ryan Harris - I was hopeful that this guy would be there toward the end of the 3rd round because I didn't want to reach for the available offensive tackles that were there for me in the 2nd round. Once again, a ton of attention has been given to two guys, when there are some solid players being partially ignored. I think Harris will be a solid starter in the NFL.

New York Giants
Brady Quinn - Nobody likes the pick other than me, but I stand behind the feelings that I could easily trade this guy and build up picks, and if he wasn't traded, it would make for good competition against a quarterback that has not lived up to his former top draft status. In my opinion, this quarterback is by far the best in this years draft, and I think he is one of the better quarterbacks to enter the NFL in a while. Had Weis been with Notre Dame for Quinn's entire college career, this guy very well could have left Notre Dame with a National Championship to his credit. The Irish got as far as they got last year because of Quinn, they didn't choke in the end because of him.

David Harris - Not much to say about this player, other than I think he is better than this pick. Very solid linebacker, that can make things much easier on the Giants defensive line. There won't be much getting past this guy.

Kenny Irons - I said this the entire off season, I think this is the best running back in this draft. One of the things that hold him back is injury concerns, which is ironic considering the injures of this years favorite running back, Adrian Peterson who was injured his entire college career. I don't think he will be here in this weekends NFL Draft as I expect him to be gone in the 2nd round, or at the top of the 3rd at the latest. If he is undrafted by the 3rd round, I would look for Dallas to bundle up and go get him, as he fits the style that Dallas would be looking for.
