2008 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire
*Week 12*

Quarterbacks

Shaun Hill – San Francisco
In the last two weeks since taking over in Mike Martz’s offense Hill has put up respectable numbers. It’s not always pretty, but the starter in a Mike Martz offense is usually at least respectable from a fantasy standpoint. Hill is not exception and don’t forget the end of last year when he put up decent numbers as well. As long as he’s the starter, he is worth a roster spot in most leagues.

Tyler Thigpen – Kansas City
This is his last week I’ll put him on the list. Thigpen is not going away and he should be gone in your league, but if he’s not, grab him. Thigpen is leading a legitimate passing attack in Kansas City for the first time since Trent Green’s four straight 4,000 yard seasons. Thigpen is taking advantage of the weapons around him and has put together four very good weeks in a row. He should be on a roster and may be able to start if he can keep this up.

Kerry Collins – Tennessee
Collins is not going to be a guy you want every week, but what the last two weeks has shown us is when the Titans face a tough run D, there is enough weapons in Tennessee to put up decent passing numbers. Collins put up 2 very good weeks in a row and makes a decent back-up if you’re looking for QB help down the stretch.

Running Backs

Warrick Dunn – Tampa Bay
This is only for small leagues as Dunn is likely gone in most leagues. However, if he’s available go get him. Earnest Graham is now done for the season and Dunn will play a large role in the offense down the stretch. Dunn could put up decent RB2 numbers given the right match-up.

Peyton Hillis – Denver
Hillis is a crafty FB turned RB with good hands. He is getting some looks from Shanny given the mess they currently have at RB. Hillis will get the goal line carries from here on out and will get some additional opportunities. Defiantly worth a roster spot.

Carnell Williams – Tampa Bay
Williams does not appear to be ready to make an immediate impact, but with the Graham injury he may get an opportunity to have an impact in the next few weeks. If you’re in a large league, Williams is a guy who could surprise towards the end of the season and is a guy to stash away on your bench.

Felix Jones – Dallas
Jones should be coming back from injury in the next couple weeks. Jones was very impressive prior to his injury and should see some opportunities upon his return. If someone was impatient and dumped him during his time off, grab him now before he starts making noise again.

Wide Receivers

Ted Ginn Jr – Miami
Well this is now 3 of 4 weeks that Ginn has posted double digit fantasy points. He should not be lying on your waiver wire still, but if he is grab him. He’s developing into a nice offensive threat and could end up being one of those impact 2nd half performers.

Michael Jenkins – Atlanta
Jenkins caught another 5 balls this weekend and is becoming a legitimate weekly threat in the Falcons offense opposite Roddy White. Jenkins is a nice pick up if you’re looking to add a little depth at WR.

Mark Bradley – Kansas City
Bradley was held out of the endzone this week, but savvy owners will notice he caught 3 more balls for 54 yds and continues to be a big part of this passing game. Bradley is worth the spot if he’s available in your league.

Tight Ends

Dustin Keller – New York Jets
Favre has found his new safety blanket in Dustin Keller. Keller had 8 catches for 87 yards on Thursday and looks to be a force in this offense. If you don’t have one of the stud TE’s, Keller is worth considering, not just for a roster spot, but as your starting TE for your playoff run.

Ben Watson – New England
Watson has always had the talent, but injuries have always seemed to slow him down. Watson never seemed to get out of the blocks this season after another injury kept him off the field until week 3. However, Watson may have finally broken out this past week with 8 receptions for 88 yds and a TD. This may be just what he needs to put a nice end of the season run together.

Defensive Line

Tommy Kelly – Oakland
Kelly has been consistent of late and has been putting up numbers worth considering if you’re weak on the DL. Kelly won’t have a huge week very often, but puts up very solid numbers week in and week out.

Darryl Tapp – Seattle
Tapp has been terribly disappointing up until the last couple weeks. He has put up very good numbers in 2 of the last 3 weeks and is showing signs of being a nice play on the DL.

Linebackers

Eric Barton – New York Jets
Barton is on a hot streak! He has recorded 8, 10, and 17 tackles in his last three games! He will eventually cool off, but for now he needs to be on your team and in your line-up.

Jamie Winborn – Denver
With DJ Williams out for four weeks Winborn looks to be a nice option in his place. Winborn has racked up 32 tackles in the last three weeks and can be counted on to put up good numbers if you need some help at LB.

Defensive Backs

Abram Elam- New York Jets
Elam looks to retain the starting nod even when Eric Smith returns. Elam has been making plays and has caught the eye of coach Mangini. Elam can add some upside to your secondary if you need some help.

Will Allen – Miami
Allen is an exciting playmaker in the Dolphins secondary. He seems to be playing very well right now so grabbing him if you need DB help may be a good move.
